In the Press & on the Mic

Real talk on menopause — in interviews, articles, and conversations that go beyond the hot flash headline.

Menopause is finally getting the attention it deserves, and I'm here for every conversation that moves the needle. Whether I'm a guest on a podcast, talking to a reporter, or sitting down for an interview, I show up with the same goal: give people accurate, evidence-based information that actually changes how they experience this transition.

Featured in Philadelphia Magazine’s Be Well Philly issue, I discuss my early menopause experience and mission through The Menopause OT to help women stop suffering in silence and take proactive, empowered action during perimenopause and menopause.

A Major Win for Women’s Health: Understanding the FDA’s New Hormone Therapy Decision

On Good Day Philadelphia, I joined the conversation about a historic moment in women’s health: the FDA’s decision to remove the long-standing black box warning from many menopause hormone therapies.

For more than 20 years, women were told that estrogen — the very hormone that supports our bones, brain, and genitourinary health — suddenly became dangerous after menopause. This change marks a long-overdue correction and opens the door for more evidence-based, individualized care.

Watch the full segment to learn:

  • What this FDA decision really means

  • Why it matters for your health and wellbeing

  • How it could reshape conversations about menopause care moving forward

I was honored to be featured by Habituelle, and this conversation meant a lot to me.

We talked about what it feels like when your work starts to feel like a calling, why community has been so essential to building this practice, and the shift that changed everything for me as a new entrepreneur: moving from "what if this doesn't work" to "what if it does."

We also got into the thing that drives everything I do. Too many women are navigating the menopause transition without the information, support, or plan they need. That is not because they aren't paying attention. It is because no one taught them. And I want to be part of changing that.

If you've been following along for a while, you'll recognize a lot of what I share in this interview. And if you're new here, it's a good place to start.

Building The Menopause OT: Menopause Advocacy, Midlife Health, Workplace Wellness and more

I had such a meaningful conversation on The Conversation Series and I'm excited to share it with you.

We talked about what it actually felt like to go through surgical menopause at 42 as a healthcare professional and still have no idea what was happening in my own body. The specialist loop. The patient portal message. The moment I realized that if I didn't know any of this, most women didn't either.

And what I did about it.

If you've ever felt dismissed, confused, or like you're navigating this transition completely on your own, this episode is for you. We get into the misinformation that's keeping women stuck, why the healthcare system isn't set up to support you through this, and what it actually looks like to advocate for yourself.

Is This Perimenopause? The Symptoms Women are Told to Ignore.

In this episode of Dare On with Jodi Silverman, we talk about the symptoms so many women are experiencing but were never taught to expect: brain fog, anxiety, disrupted sleep, joint pain, and that unsettling feeling that your body has suddenly become unfamiliar.

We dig into why perimenopause so often goes unrecognized, why the knowledge gap affects not just women but their doctors too, and why so many women spend years looking for answers they deserve to have much sooner.

I also share my own experience with surgical menopause at 42, the truth about HRT and the myths that still surround it, and why this stage of life is absolutely one that can be supported.

Learning To Trust Your Body Again After Surgical Menopause

I sat down with Gabriella Espinosa on the Pleasure in the Pause podcast to share my own surgical menopause story and what I've learned on the other side. We talked adenomyosis, lifestyle, habit-building, and why you don't have to white-knuckle your way through this transition.

When Menopause Comes Early: How to Rebuild After Surgical or Treatment-Induced Change

If you've ever felt blindsided by menopause, especially when it comes early, suddenly, or after surgery, and found yourself thinking "why didn't anyone warn me?" this episode is for you.

I sat down with Ashley to talk about what really happens when menopause doesn't follow the expected timeline. I share my own experience of entering menopause after a hysterectomy, even with my ovaries intact, the confusing symptoms that came first, and the education and support that helped me feel like myself again.

We get into how to advocate for yourself, understand your options, and build a plan that supports both your symptoms and your long-term health.

Honest, practical, and I hope, validating.

Episode 73: Surgical Menopause Explained: Symptoms, Risks, and Hormone Therapy Options with Julie Parana, The Menopause OT

What happens when menopause comes suddenly instead of gradually? For women facing a hysterectomy or ovary removal, surgical menopause can feel like being hit by a truck—bringing abrupt hormone loss, severe symptoms, and long-term health risks.

If you’re considering surgery, already in surgical menopause, or supporting someone who is, this conversation will give you the knowledge and tools to ask the right questions, make informed decisions, and find relief.

Episode 34: How Early Menopause After Hysterectomy Inspired Julie Parana's New Career

When I had a hysterectomy at 42, I expected relief from years of pain, and I got it. What I didn't expect was being launched into menopause a decade earlier than planned.

Even with my ovaries intact, I started experiencing brain fog, forgetfulness, and sleep struggles that were affecting my work. It wasn't until the hot flashes showed up that I finally connected the dots.

In this episode I share how I pieced together what was actually happening, why most doctors aren't trained to recognize or treat menopause effectively, and how that experience inspired me to become The Menopause OT, helping women and employers navigate this transition with confidence and a real plan.

Decoding Menopause: Insights from Menopause OT, Julie Parana

I joined Tiffany and Jeanette on A Holistic Dose Podcast for a conversation I really enjoyed, and I think you will too.

We got into the complexities of perimenopause and menopause, including the symptoms most women are never warned about, the misconceptions around hormone therapy that are keeping women from getting the support they need, and why advocating for yourself in a medical setting is a skill worth developing.

I also shared my own story, practical lifestyle strategies, and why having a community of women who are willing to talk openly about this transition changes everything.

If you are navigating midlife and wondering why no one prepared you for any of this, this one is worth a listen.

The Hypocrisy of Menopause: What No One Told US

Why do we prepare for puberty and pregnancy but leave women completely in the dark when it comes to menopause?

That's the question at the center of this conversation, and we don't hold back.

I joined this episode to talk about the real-life impact of menopausal symptoms, the systemic failure to support women through this transition, and what it actually takes to advocate for yourself when the system isn't set up to help you.

Part validation, part rebellion, and a whole lot of truth.
